  • Please remove PHP Manager for IIS from the gallery

PHP Manager for IIS was an open source project on CodePlex, and its developer(s) submitted the installer to the gallery.

However, if you track that project you will see that,

    • Its original developer(s) abandoned it on CodePlex a long while ago.
    • When CodePlex was archived, its homepage was also archived.

Once you dig around the internet, you can see tons of posts stating issues, such as

    • PHP Manager does not work for latest IIS such as IIS 10 (as it is too old).
    • Its installer verification fails (as it is too old).

I wish someone from Microsoft can delete it from the gallery to let it die more peacefully. Of course, the source code is still there, so someone might revive it in the future.

It is not a must to run PHP on IIS, so should be safe to remove at any time.

Thanks for posting - typically we don't delete entries, even those that are old as we've found customers using them on older platforms (in specific legacy configs) that we break unknowingly

    Thanks

Then what if I take over the project and create new installers?

I am doing that right now and 2.0 Beta 1 installer can be found from https://www.phpmanager.xyz . I think I can submit them to replace the old installers in the gallery. However, I am not the original submitter of PHP Manager there, and not sure if there is roadblock.
