I upgraded my Windows 8 machine to Windows 10 recently. I did not have IIS installed at the time (though I've installed it with ease on other machines in the past). I was hoping it would once again be easy, but something seems wrong with Windows 10 and IIS.
I went to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off. I ticked the box for Internet Information Services, and hit OK. The first time I tried this, everything looked like it was going well until it popped up some error dialog "An error has
occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed."
Can someone please help on this issue.
Thanks in Advance.

Please make sure you have installed the latest version of .Net Framework. If so, you can use the
.Net Framework Repair Tool to fix some problems.
And check your IIS installation log for more detailed error information. The path of IIS installation log is C:\Windows\iis.log

Perhaps the reason is that the old IIS config files was not deleted after you updated Win8 to Win10, then these old config files confused the IIS installer .
Please remove all the old IIS config files properly before install IIS 10.

The configuration files for IIS 7 and later are located in your %WinDir%\System32\Inetsrv\Config folder, and you can find more information about the primary configuration files in the following link.

Some config files are located in your .NET Framework folder.
You can try reinstalling the .NET Framework, then install IIS.

I have a similar issue post-update. I updated Windows 7 to Windows 10. The Windows 7 was a clean install after a disk problem, and I'd not got around to installing IIS.
After the update, I want to install IIS; I go to the "Programs and Features" menu, click on "Turn Windows features on or off", and select IIS from the menu.
It then sits there saying: "Searching for required files...." - apparently forever.
No errors - but it's been in that state for 25 minutes now.
NB just did the same thing on another machine that's had Win10 from new, and it completed in about 2 minutes.
Both are i7 machines with SSD disks.
So this seems to be linked to the upgrade issue.
Seems to have been an issue with the
upgrade itself: got onto MS support chat, and a technician took over my PC and did an in-place repair of the installation; I can now install IIS (and have done so).
So - if you have the same issue as me, check your Windows for any failed updates, check for system integrity etc.
Apparently, several executables were corrupted.
