Sadly, almost everything I see here on the IIS site regarding web deploy is legacy information.  Where is the current information for web deployment on IIS 7, 7.5 and 8 on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 through a fully automated process that may use continuous build integration?  Where can I find this information such that there is a separation of concerns that does not require Azure or any other tightly bundled requirement?

Also I would like for the Web Platform installer to be upgraded to provide detailed, current links to information, and to clearly identify what each IIS tool is and does in sufficient detail, which is currently lacking.

For continuous integration you might want to look into TFS, perhaps GIT too.

I agree that the documentation needs some upgrading, next time I meet with the team I will make this comment.
