  • Can't install PHP Manager on Windows Server 2012

    Jan 23, 2014 10:38 AM|jov|LINK

    Hi,

I'm setting up IIS 8.5 on Windows Server 2012 R2. Installation of PHP Manager with Web Platform Installer fails with log message "CustomAction VSDCA_VsdLaunchConditions returned actual error code 1603".

Does anyone know if this is because PHP Manager isn't compatible with IIS 8.5 or could there be another reason?

    Thx for any info.

I have been able to successfully install PHP Manager for IIS using WPI 4.6. What version of WPI are you running? Can you provide install error details from WPI?

I am having the same error with WPI v 4.6 on Server 2012 R2, the log file shows:

If I attempt a manual install of the PHPManagerForIIS-1.2.0x64.msi it fails with an error that the setup requires .NET Framework version 2.0
That doesn't sound right at all!

Any help is of course appreciated.

Make sure under Roles and Features that you have .Net Framework 3.5 selected and HTTP Activation. This will install the downstream .Net framework versions (including 2.0) that are required for PHP Manager.

I was able to replicate the error that you are receiving. After enabling .Net framework 3.5 in features, the PHP Manager installed with no issues.

    Hi Terri,

This is a brandnew machine, we had some hardware issues that had to be resolved first.

But after installing .NET 3.5, PHP Manager indeed installed normally. Thx for your support!
