I need your help, because I'm having troubles here.
I have to migrate a w2003 Server to a w2008 R2.
I installed all features from iis 7.5, then i redirect all the folders from inetpub to another directory (d), and I prove that it works with a simple "hello word" html page.
After that, i installed framework 1.1 because it was require for all the webpages that are allocated in iis 6.0. Of course all other frameworks are alredy installed.
I added some lines to de machine.config file, so I can choose the framework in the AppToolsss...
All appears to be correct, but it doesn't works.
I don't understand why when I browse an application it always prompt the login from user and pass (ii6 doesn't required and has windows authentication also) And it always says that there isn't a page to show... ore some kind of error. (Framework 1.1)
In another page, when i browse it, the app service in app pool for that site stop (Framework 1.1) I red about permissions, but i alredy conceed this permissions on the machine.config file. I start it again, then i browse the app aftter that it returns a
533 error, then i see the app tool and the services is stoped.
I red about the migration tool and I installed on the w2008R2 and on the w2003 (I don't see the installated software, but I saw when it was installing and finished... it didn't asked for restart) I can't restart it, I hope I can do it middlenight, but for
the other one i didn't need to restart the server (w2008r2) please tell me if this is normal... :S
I'm not an expert in iis, actually i'm Network Admin and the Webmaster has no much idea what to do...
Please I really need your help and advices... or should I to return to iis 6.0?

Then this information on why your have Browser / User problems
and the Users
It is normal not to see changes for software or configuration until the server & machine are restarted.
For problems in migrating aspnet 1.1 applications / Web Sites you should contact the originals developer
or get a developer to help you.
You will need to work on Web Site permissions, aspnet 1.1 application pools and maybe even code changes.
