Hi: I am setting up the .NET web service running on windows 2003 server, however I encountered an problem that I could not run the application pool identity under an specified
user account, which is already member of IIS_WPG, STS_WPG and Administrator.
As long as I change the application identity from default network account into this specified user account. I got error as “Service Unavailable” from Internet Explorer. So
what else rights can I give to this specified user account to make it has sufficient rights to run the application?
Please give some advises.

Look in the event logs for errors. I would run filemon to see what folders are being access and potential issues.
This might help also.
