Hi,
I'm running Vista Ultimate and am having problems with IIS.
A couple of days ago I activated IIS, because a software I was going to install required a webserver. This went fine, but something went wrong in the software installation. So, I was going to re-install it and at the same time I thought: "why not deactivate and activate IIS", hoping to get a fresh start.
But after uninstalling the software and deactivating IIS it refuses to activate again! The PC is thinking for quite some time and then gives me an error message and aborts. Free translation of the msg: "An error has occured. All functions has not been changed". And ISS remains unactivated.
I've read some threads and maybe the problem is that I need to uninstall it in another (more complete) way. I've tried to remove C:\inetpub, the iis7.log-file and the folder C:\Windows\System32 but this didn't help.
The logfile contains a lot of warnings (of the same kind):
