cant access http://localhost due to "name and "password" request

iis 5.1
xp pro iis 5.1 asks for uname and password
Hello, Im new to IIS. Any help is appreciated. Just installed IIS 5.1. When I type in http://localhost a box pops up requesting name and password. This is all being performed on a stand alone machine. Any ideas as to what to do? thanks
