Thank you for the post, it looks like you may have uncovered a bug in wcat. Your script does not specify the HTTP version number, and while WCAT should default to HTTP/1.0 it appears that it is failing to send the version string in the HTTP request. I'm fixing WCAT right now to address this issue...
