  • Force Kerberos only authentication

Hello! Is there any way to force IIS to accept Kerberos authentication only, no NTLM at all? Negotiate falls back to NTLM if Kerberos is not avaliable for some reason. And I'd like to make sure that Kerberos only is used. There was a similar question some time ago: http://forums.iis.net/p/1146084...

  • Kerberos troubleshotting

Hello everyone, For the past week I've been trying to implement a solution using kerberos to a double hop issue that developed in the office. My scenario is a mixed windows based environment with the front-end running IIS 7.0 under Windows Server 2008, the middle-tiers running Windows Server 2003...

  • IIS6 - asp.net returns Identity of different user

Greetings all – think I've got a rib-tickler for ya: To get an overall idea of the usage of our in-house web-apps, I add in a bit of code which sends me an email whenever someone logs in (yeah – the apps obviously aren’t that busy) The email just contains the login time and username (as returned...

  • Re: Application Pool Identity to access a Mapped Drive

There's a whole host of other stuff you might need to consider as well. For example, if you're going to have more than one AppPool, you'll need to sort out authentication with this command (run from AdminScripts folder): cscript adsutil.vbs set w3svc/NTAuthenticationProviders "NTLM"...

  • IIS6 Virtual to Remote Server via UNC, using UNC Authentication - now gets 401.3 error

I'm generally verbose, tonight I'm going to try and keep this simple: IIS6, intentionally not configured for Kerberos delegation and neither is the W2K3 file server. Each are SP1 (not R2). This configuration has been working just fine and dandy for many months, perhaps over a year... We have...

  • Kerberos authentication not working, defaulting to NTLM

At this point I imagine it's an Active Directory thing but I was hoping there was something I could change before I go get the infrastructure team to work on it. - IIS 6.0 is set to use Integrated Authentication with anonymous access disabled. - Permissions for the groups required are set on the...
