  • CPU Usage Spikes to 100%

This happens in our Production Web server. Sometimes the processor usage spikes to 100% and doesn't come down. The server hangs and we need to force it by doing an IISreset. The process that takes all 100% is w3wp.exe. IIS logs for this period looks normal with regular traffic. This has happened...

  • Re: Problems running ASP.Net 1.1 and subdirectory in ASP.NET 2.0

Hello, IIS is VERY finicky about your configuration. If you have 2 application pools defined (1 for 1.1 and one for 2.0) they must not ever mix. For example, on my server I have a mix of .NET 2.0 and 1.1 sites (and some in virtual directories), but if I accidentally assign a .NET 2.0 site the 1.1 application...

  • AD Authentication and IIS 6.0 in asp.net (C#)

I'm working on a solution for my employer that grabs the currently logged in user's name using a WindowsIdentity method, and compares that to an Active Directory LDAP query to get the "Title" property. If the title property matches a list of permitted titles in the code-behind, it grants...

  • Getting started setting up a ASP.NET website over my home network

Hi there. I got a old 32 bit Windows 2003 (standard) PC. I thought I might use it to plug into my home router (currently a BT Home Hub) and I wanted to setup a ASP.NET 2.0 website and allow all PC (a mix of windows, linux and OS X) machines in my home to access the website. I created a simple Hello World...
