  • Using FTP with virtual hosts and ASP.NET membership authentication

I have a server in a hosting scenario where I create multiple sites configured with their own membership provider (and their own database), using different domains (same IP). It works find for ASP.NET but the FTP server always uses the global membership provider (defined in the global web.config) when...

  • FTP Connection closes right after it is opened

I have a clean install of Server 2008 Web Edition. I tried to set up FTP but was having connection issues. I discovered FTP7 so I uninstalled FTP6 Publishing services and have install FTP7 publishing services as per the direction on this site. I was still having connection issues. Thinking that it may...

  • Re: FTP 7 and data channel protection (PROT)

I think the problem that you are seeing is due to the SSL settings, which are set to "Require SSL" by default. If you change your settings to "Allow SSL", then you can drop out of SSL. What's more, if you open the FTP SSL Settings feature and choose "Custom", then you...

  • Re: Creating a *flexible* FTP

I have another issue that I would sum up with the same title. I've created a few FTP sites (for now just two really) each of which is binded to a different domain (as described here: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/320/using-virtual-host-names/ ). All domains are already being configured to the this...

  • Configuring passive mode

I've followed all instructions at http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/309/configuring-ftp-firewall-settings/ in an attempt to make this working, but I'm still failing. The (MikroTik) router at my public IP (for the sake of example: 10.10.10.1) translates all incoming requests on port 21 to my private...

  • Creating a *flexible* FTP

Hello. I'm currently trying to configure a new FTP server here (with a single IP and multiple domain names aliased to it) and I'm trying to make a configuration that would apply for a certain set of users. I have a special domain (for the purpose of this example: example.org) in which I want...

  • Re: FTP home directory

Hi ctrlaltdel ! As you can read in Ryan's blog, this is not a public feature so it is not supported and things may change dramatically for the next release (renaming, adding / removing parameters or even remove the interface). I think you may end finding the way to configure it but I would encorage...

  • Re: Can't add Microsoft.Web.FtpServer reference in my project.

Hi, The “manage code” support is a required feature just to enable both built-in ASP.NET and IIS Authentication providers for FTP 7. You shouldn’t reference the assembly in your project because is not supported –yet. Perhaps a future FTP Server release will enable this extensibility point. Thanks regionbbs...
