  • Re: publishing from VS2008, errors 'no web server name' and 'unspecified error' - please please look

Break it. It's mind-boggling how a simple thing like "publishing" via FTP gets so problematic. And the kicker is that it adds a file that effectively puts your site "offline" until you delete it. This isn't a client issue, I can use command line FTP and Dreamweaver (going...

  • FTP Nightmare

I hope someone can help, we're having a bit of a weird nightmare on Windows Server 2003 at the moment. I'm trying to change the FTP ports used in our FTP connection. I've identified that it gets a fair bit of brute forcing and one of the things I'd like to do is move it from Ports 21...

  • FTP passive mode doesn't work externally because passing internal IP

I just posted in another area of this forum ( http://forums.iis.net/p/1157128/1901692.aspx#1901692 ) but I think this is the right place to post judging by I have a similar problem. I have verified it is using the right ports and that the firewall is allowing those ports, internally passive mode works...

  • local user account and ftp access

The intent is to flip the bit on the enabled/disabled account setting for a local user account in order to permit/deny ftp access. However, unless IIS is restarted, it appears that when changing the account state from enabled to disabled, IIS still successfully authenticates and allows the user access...

  • IIS / FTP virtual directories problem

First off, my configuration is Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2, running IIS6. I don't have any way of knowing at what point this problem started happening, but for some reason some FTP clients seem to be ignoring the rules of FTP virtual directories. I have the "Default FTP Site"...

  • Setting directory listing style with AD Isolation site

How do you set the directory listing style in the Isolate users using Active Directory site? Ususally it would be on the Home Directroy tab, but that's not there in user isolation mode. I want to set the listing style to unix.

  • FTP User Isolation + Virtual Directory

Hi guys, I got the following problem I should solve: I have an IIS 6.0 FTP Server running in user isolation mode, automatically redirecting the (local) Users to root/LocalUser/username. The root folder is located on the ftp-server. This works fine. Now a Domain-User needs access to a remote share. If...

  • netout: connection closed after 131070 bytes

I'm trying to upload files to my FTP server (Win2003 IIS6) using a command prompt batch file (basically just login, then a PUT). User logs in fine, but problems when attempting to PUT. If file is less than 131070 bytes, it works fine. If more, it nearly always stops at exactly 131070 with the following...
