  • How can multiple video feeds be brought into to IIS and exposed as smooth streams?

What hardware works well with the IIS smooth streaming environment to bring in multiple live video streams? The streams are SD quality and I expect them to be supplied via coax or similar - my hope is that I could run a few coax cables to some hardware on a server, then expose those streams via IIS.

  • Re: Changing from different bitrates took nearly 7 seconds in Smooth Streaming format

Hi, Joeri, The original IIS Smooth Streaming bit rate switching heuristics in Expression Encoder 2 SP1 are a bit conservative under some conditions, slowly ramping up to higher bit rates, one at a time. You might try passing your content through the IIS Smooth Streaming settings in Expression Encoder...

  • Re: Smooth Streaming server encoding

Hi, In order to encode to smooth streaming you can use the Expression Encoder 3 SDK. Hi, Suganyanataraj, The input formats that you can use will vary depending on the Smooth Streaming encoder you are using. For example, if you are using Expression Encoder, see the input formats in the first Product-Specific FAQ at http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/Encoder_FAQ.aspx#ProductSpecific...

  • Re: Web Playlists

Of course, but Silverlight cannot handle MBR streams, does not have a controls.currentAudioLanguage property that gives you the LCID of the audio language that currently plays in a multilingual stream, and of course a Smooth Streaming video (that is the future) cannot be streamed from WMS. I don't...

  • Re: Web Playlists

Hi Vishal. I am the administrator of an Internet only Station. The streaming is based on Windows Media Services and SSPL that are combining recorded videos and Live broadcasts. A common scenario using the WMS. But... we want to get rid of the Embedded Media Player and replace it with Silverlight and...

Hi, Thanks for trying it out. Are you doing On-demand Smooth Streaming? Also, a silly question but did you install IIS Media Services? If yes, what version? Lastly, here is a walkthrough. Did you complete all the steps successfully? http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/558/smooth-streaming-for-iis-70---getting...
