  • Shared config "Configuration Performance" speed

We have an IIS7.5 farm using shared config which is stored on a central file server (A NAS appliance that i believe runs Samba under the hood). This started out pretty small 2 servers, less than 10% cpu, and just 1 site. Over time, we've migrated more and more apps to this newer farm from our IIS6...

Especially regarding the web content being located on a network share location or on another server. Does this require port 445, file sharing port opened to permit the WFE to reach the files in this other...

  • Shared configuration and offline files

I enabled shared configuration for 2 Windows Server 2008 64 bit machines. That appears to work OK. I then tried to implement offline files to prevent a loss of service whn the common share goes off line. I did make the registry change to make the cache read-only and I loaded the desktop experience.....

  • Re: ARR+shared configuration

Looooooka Sorry, it's taken so long to follow up on this. Were you able to sort out what the problems were? In my testing, I use shared configuration and it's been working pretty well. As you had indicated, it is such a time saver since you only need to make the changes once. Also, adding additional...
