Hi I am unable to apply SSL on a virtual directory. I have installed a certificate generated from OpenSSL and have also applied the SSL settings to the directory. The IE does asks for using https if http is used for opening a page on that directory. But when https is used "internet exploerer cannot...

  • Re: FTP 7 and data channel protection (PROT)

I think the problem that you are seeing is due to the SSL settings, which are set to "Require SSL" by default. If you change your settings to "Allow SSL", then you can drop out of SSL. What's more, if you open the FTP SSL Settings feature and choose "Custom", then you...

[quote user="Jason Hill"] We want to secure parts of our site with SSL (login and registration) but this would require us to break each domain name into a separate IIS website right? This is not desirable because we use NHibernate with caching and don't want to end up with 9 independant...

  • Use the strongest supported encryption?

IIS 7 supports 256 bit encryption. (Tested by Opera 9.5, with 256 bit ciphers enabled only) However, IIS doesn't appear to be using the strongest encryption supported by the client. With all the 128 bit, 168 bit and 256 bit ciphers enabled, IIS 7 uses 128 bit instead of the strongest 256 bit encryption...

  • Port range for data port for FTPS in IIS7

I've seen this port range somewhere before, but I can't find it now. Needing to modify some firewall rules to get FTPS available externally. I am aware of the modifications needed to make this work with Windows Firewall, but in this case we need to modify our external firewall. Not running a...
