I'm trying to parse a log file that has a few lines (4) as header, each starting with '#', the 4th contains a list of columns, in the form: #NetWork=0...

  • RE: Need to get an .evt file as output

The only way to produce an .evt file is: 1) Create a custom event log; 2) Write an app that generates events into that custom event log; 3) Export the custom event log into a .evt file.

As many of you might have guessed, the IIS logs processed quite nicely, using Logparser 2.2's IISW3C plugin to parse them. The STS logs were another matter - no obvious Logparser plugin...

  • RE: NCSA to IIS or W3C

Hi, To do this you must arrange in your query fields from NCSA format to right places in IIS format. And don't forget about INTO file.log statement in your query. Then run comman like logparser file:query.sql -i:NCSA -o:IIS You can compare both formats using command logparser -h -i:NCSA logparser -h...

  • NCSA to IIS or W3C

Anyone have any tips or tricks for making this happen? At the moment I'm confounded by an error with every line "unexpectedly ending" but assuming I could get the NCSA files to read, I want to attempt to translate them to IIS or more likely W3C. Thanks!

  • RE: Proprietary format into W3C Format - Newbie lookin' for answers

You're correct, apps like WebTrends treat the data in a particular column mapping for what that column means for an IISW3C. And you're correct, if you have that proprietary file, you need to find a mapping to the 'IISW3C' columns in order for web log analysis apps to analyze it, which might or might...
