    Why not use wget (free - GPLed) or something similar ? IE is very expensive and "taskkill" is not the optimal way to do this.

    What if shutdown limit of app pool is not longer enough to allow new app pool to fully load ?     This could be the result of any number of things. It could be the applications are leaking memory or the cache isn't being cleared fast enough.
