    This is probably due to the fact that the worker process, under which the ARR runs, does not have read/write access to the share. Do you know what application pool identity you are using for ARR? You will want to ensure that the user identity of the application pool has read/write access to NAS.

    As Anil has pointed out, there is nothing "special" that ARR does for ASP.Net. ARR caches contents based on "cache-ability" of the content, as defined by RFC.

ARR has two different "types" of proxy - one is at (what we call) server level and the other is at (what we call) server farm level...
