  • Re: ARR on Server Core R2

Lumir This thread seems to have gone dark. I wanted to follow up with you and further understand what your initial question was about? Thanks.

  • Re: ARR help with SBS 2008

runningdiplomat Do you have a dedicated ARR server that is proxying requests? Or are you planning on running ARR on the same machine as SBS? Either way, the basic idea is the same. Assuming that you have a dedicated server for ARR, at high level, what you will want to do are: - Create a server farm where...

  • Re: Problems in locating ARR

To close the loop on this, this problem is fixed in ARRv2 RC release which was just made public today. Download ARRv2 RC from: Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2 RC for IIS 7.0 (x86) here . Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2 RC for IIS 7.0 (x64) here .

  • Re: Outside Rewrite

Let me see if I understand your question. You want the requests that are received via site.ourdomain.com to be routed to site.hosteddomain.com without changing the URL on the client browser, is that right? If so, all you need to do is to configure ARR as a reverse proxy. The UI for this configure differs...

  • Re: The error for sharing a disk for ARR

This is probably due to the fact that the worker process, under which the ARR runs, does not have read/write access to the share. Do you know what application pool identity you are using for ARR? You will want to ensure that the user identity of the application pool has read/write access to NAS.

  • Re: i have problem in the ARR v2 beta2

Glad to hear that it's working for you. ARRv2 RC was released today (and the problem that you reported is fixed in RC), so perhaps you may want to deploy RC. Download ARRv2 RC from : • Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2 RC for IIS 7.0 (x86) here . • Microsoft Application Request Routing...

  • Re: ARR help

ARR is a (reverse) proxy based load balancer in the scenario that you are describing. As such, we do recommend having a proxy server in front of the content servers. In theory, it would be possible to combine the content servers and the ARR - (but there is no escaping the "proxiness" of the...

  • Re: Problems in locating ARR

I see - it may be that the problem that you are experiencing is related to shared config. 1) When you took the server out of shared config, did you choose to make the copy of shared config to the local machine (ie. take the snapshot of the latest copy). 2) After uninstalling ARR (previous version) and...

  • Re: Simple redirect question

Have you tried it with the new rule? It didn't work the first time b/c you had other rules in URL rewrite (the rules are processed from top to bottom): <rule name="ARR_Code Dogs Limited WF_loadbalance" patternSyntax="Wildcard" stopProcessing="true"> <match url...

  • Re: Simple redirect question

No problems. I think I understood you fully, but I wanted to repeat it to ensure that I do. You are using ARR in a hybrid mode. Meaning, it is both a proxy (for savitarbernese.sytes.net) and for all others, it is a content server. For requests with hostname savitarbernese.sytes.net, you want them to...
