Recently, we migrated from IIS 6.0 running on Windows 2003 server to IIS 7.5 running on Windows 2008 R2. We used msdeploy to migrate the site and everything appeared to go smoothly. However, I have noticed that we are getting a large number of "Invalid
viewstate" exceptions since the upgrade. Below are a few cases:

I've never encountered such a viewstate issue caused by migration. How does the viewstate look like for the request? Is it reproducible every time or intermittent? Have you tried switch to classic pipeline to see if the issue persists? Here's a list of asp.net
changes in iis7 integrated pipeline, please check it to see if there's any scenarios match that could be possible to cause this issue:

Hope this helps, thanks.

Sorry for the late reply; I must admit the viewstate errors were NOT caused because of any migration issue...
I had time to look more closely at the error and it seems these exceptions were being thrown when the client disconnected -- in short, the exception was not being handled "gracefully"; the sudden increase in these errors seemed to be caused by a user who
was using a playstation as their web browser -- which I think had something to do with all the client disconnects as well -- since a playstation box represents less than 1% of our traffic source, I am closing this case!
