Hello, sorry if this post is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to post.
I have gotten webmatrix up and running, have already published wordpress on my site via FTP. I also have all the files locally- database for wordpress is connected (I'm using a linux server so I know I'm going to have to update that manually). Anyway,
I have been unable to access my site to log in- actually, I do get to the log in menu but once I log in, it takes me to a localhost and displays a error, "Unable to connect: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:45024."
This is driving me nuts- any help would greatly be appreciated! It was working before I ever tried to mess around with those- I tried to use WAMP and XAMPP but decided not to use it and went with Webmatrix, so I uninstalled those and reinstalled Webmatrix.
could have any settings gotten changed by those? I just wanted to be able to run php and the like locally using dreamweaver and see my edits without having to refresh my browser on the live site all the time!

I believe the problem you are running into is that WordPress stores it's local application URL in it's database. If you don't update that value in the MySQL database, all your links and such will keep trying to redirect to the original (install location)
site URL. (This is something that is automatically updated if you use Web Deploy publishing.)
The value you're looking for is in the wp_options table - you'll want to update the options with option_name of "siteurl" and "home" at least - I am not aware of any others. If you can connect to your remote database directly using WebMatrix (New Connection
option) the UI in the Databases workspace makes it easy to open the table (double-click it) and directly edit the values, otherwise you might need to run a script to do the update.
Hope that helps,
