If we submit a (major) web app that pass all the self tests and adhere to all principles how long should we expect the approval time to be, before our app is visible in the Gallery?
I too would like to know how long the approvals process takes. We submitted our application to the gallery 2 weeks ago and it's still sitting there "pending review".
The approval time can take 1-2 months in my experience. And even once accepted, updates to apps can take several weeks to be approved. I am not sure if they test each minor release right through from beginning to end as it it were a new product.
My feeling is that the web app gallery isn't really something MS is committed enough to to commit the person-hours required to making it work smoothly. I think vendors need to regard it as a way to raise their profile and encourage genuine users to their
web site, not as a serious distribution channel. The update process is too slow to ensure that updates and bug fixes can be channelled out in reasonable time.
