Does IIS_WPG Group needs Permission for non-default IIS Logging Folder?

Hello IIS Support, We have changed IIS logging folder to non-default location for all our Web Sites in our Web Servers. Default IIS Logging Folder location doesn't seem to have any permission for IIS_WPG group. Since we have changed the IIS Logging Folder to different location, can you please confirm if it is safe to not set any IIS_WPG permission for this non-default location as well? Thanks, Amar Goradia Autodesk Inc.

    Hello,

Since the logging folder is merely a location on the server where IIS will create and store the log files for the site in question, you are completely safe to not assign permissions for the 'IIS_WPG' group. Also, any programs that you have which process web site statistics will need to be pointed this folder to generate statistics from the log files.

     Hope this helps! : )
