  Re: platform installer Reply Contact Could you be a little more specific about what is not installing? Is it: 1. WebPI itself is not installed/running? 2. A particular product from WebPI is not installing? In case 1, please describe where you are getting WebPI from and what happens when you try running it. If case 2, please indicate which product is not installing, and what is shown in the linked log file.

  Re: platform installer Reply Contact I just tried to install Microsoft Web Platform Installer from http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/install.aspx?appsxml=&appid=SQLExpress%3bSQLExpress and when I run it I get the following: This message doesn't give me any clue what is wrong.  I am on Windows XP SP3 with .NET 2.0 with SP2 installed.  I saw another post about WPI 2.0 so I followed that link to http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx and I get the same error when I try to install it.

  MarkLull Joined on 10-28-2009, 3:23 PM Florence, Oregon Posts 3	Re: platform installer Reply Contact Interesting.  I tried the X86 link to download the MSI and I get I have never received this message when running an MSI before and I do it routinely.  I have Windows Installer 3.1 and I will check to see if there is an update available for it as this doesn't make sense.
