    WebServer Saga

What I have?   I have recently installed

    • Windows SBS 8
    • Widnows SharePoint Server 3.0
    • IIS 7.0
    • Static IP ( I have assigned Static IP in the router with NO DHCP)
    • In the ipV4 properties setting, I have assigned the Static IP and the DNS address.

    Within the Home Network -

    • on typing the IP address I can see the IIS7 Welcome Page
    • And if I type the http://ip address:721/defualt.aspx - I can access my SharePoint Site.

    Problem

    • I cant access my site from outside of home network - I get a page cannot be displayed error
    • I have disable the Firewall settings, opened the ports but still the problem persists
    • Also I have noticed that my FTP is not working as well.

Please help guys, can't seem to figure out the problem.

Have you looked at the proxy settings in SBS?  Are you trying to access using a non-routable IP or unresolvable name? These are basic network issues, not really related to IIS.

    Bummer.

That's all the help I can give based on the information you provided about your FTP server.

    Re: WebServer Saga

Sir I really do appreciate your help but please could you speak layman language here. I can browse the site within our office network. Let me explain what I have done so far.. The server is hardwired to the 2Wire Router. I have assigned a static IP address (I have 5 static ips from AT&T) I can access the SharePoint Site within the home network which means - other computers in my home which are getting their IPs from the router are able to access the site. But if I want to access from outside the home network it wouldn't connect. Now you mentioned about Proxy Settings - now where can i find that and how to set it up.
