So did I read that right that the Live smooth streaming doesn't support H.264.  When can we expect that?

Smooth Streaming supports H.264 but the PDK Beta 1 does not have that. Our next release (soon) would have that.

Re: IIS Smooth Streaming Player Development Kit 1.0 - Beta 1 Feedback

I would like to tinker around with some parameters in the BufferingEngine (more specific the LiveBufferTimeMilliseconds and MinPlaybackBufferSizeMilliseconds). I'm trying to supply a modified conf xml via a http url specified in MediaElement.ConfigPath but it doesn't even seem to try and request the config. Any suggestions on why this doesn't work?

Is there any way of getting deeper technical support regarding the internals of the Smooth Player SDK? My questions to this forum as well as emails gets ignored. It's a bit time consuming to get answers through reverse engineering of the obfuscated SDK with close to non existing documentation.

    Hi

I apologize the delay in answering your questions. Please send me an email at vsood@microsoft.com providing details about your scenario and why you would like to override the config. I will respond to those in details.

    Regards
    Vishal

    Hi there,

I'm I right in that the player in the kit doesn't support Smooth Streaming content created with Encoder 2, or is there any way to make that happen?

Expression Encoder 2 SP1 encoded Smooth Streaming content should work with SSME as long as you don't include <CHAP> or <SCRIP> tags in the manifest.

Do you plan to support trick play in the near future ?
Something like fast forward and rewind ?
Currently you support only slow motion .
