    Administration Pack V 7.5 ?

Anybody know when the next version of the Administration Pack will be available that will work with running IIS7 in Shared Configuration mode? Like the FTP and WebDAV 7.5 versions.

I tried temporarily removing the shared configuration, installing the Administration pack, and then re-enabling shared configuration and it doesn't work. :-(

    Thanks,

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.  The IIS Admin Pack features were incorporated into the IIS 7.5 UI. If your webfarm is all IIS 7.5 then you won't need to install admin pack at all.

    Re: Administration Pack V 7.5 ?

I'm running Windows 2008 Server x64 (not R2) and I didn't think you could upgrade to IIS 7.5.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I'm running in shared configuration mode.  Most of these add-ons on this site require the "x.5" version to handle shared configurations.

From what I can tell, the Administration Pack add-on that you can download is called version 1.0, but it is for version 7.0 IIS and doesn't support shared configuration mode.  FTP and WebDAV also have 7.0 versions and don't support shared configuration mode, but they also have a WebDAV 7.5 and FTP 7.5 version that you can install on IIS 7.0 that supports shared configuration mode.

My question is; when will the adminstration pack support shared configuration mode?

    Thanks,

Two issues, as far as administration goes, the Administration pack “supports” shared configuration mode.  Administration Pack is just UI components, these do not “rely” on shared configuration; but they will manage specific sections in the shared configuration that you previously could not manage.   For FTP/WEbDAV components, since these change the shared configuration, you can’t install them when shared configuration is on (because box A will stop working when box B gets a new runtime component installed)  If Box A and box B are using a shared configuration, they must have the same installed components.  You have to take each box off of the shared configuration, install the components, then re-enable shared configuration; yes, it’s not a great solution, but it’s what we have for now.
