    Current Connections vs. Active Connections

    Hi all

    Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
    IIS 6.0

If I watch the values vor "Current Connections" and "Active Sessions" with PerfMon then I see 8 current connections but about 100 Active Sessions. Session time out is configured on IIS/Web.config of the web app for 2 minutes.

So my understandig is, that the Active Session value should decrease after a few minutes if there are not comming some new connections, isn't it?

Why do I see this large difference?

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards
    Adrian

This two values don't have a direct relationship so what you see is not a problem I think.

Hi Lex Thank you for your answer. Which performance counters should i watch to see how many acitve connections are connected to our iis and how many memory the active sessions consume?

    Thank you for your help.

You can check Current Connections object under "Web Service" for the first request.

But there is no per session object for memory usage. I don't think that's a mandatory thing.
