  scion111 Joined on 07-16-2009, 8:35 PM New Jersey, USA Posts 4	Dead link for iBackupIIS7 - Backup/Restore utility Reply Contact Every link I find for the iBackupIIS7 - Backup/Restore brings me to http://www.iis.net/downloads/default.aspx?tabid=34&g=6&i=1552  When you click 'download' you go to http://www.iis.net/downloads/download-item.ashx?i=1552  Which returns a 404 - Page Not Found error.  Any ides where I can download this utility?

I always get a 404 error when clicking on the 'download' button, or, on Rakki's page, the link that's under 'download location'

However, I am no IIS expert and am totally baffled by the installation instructions! If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Here are the instrucitons and my comments (in CAPS): Download the IIS7BackupRestore.dll. DONE. I ACTUALLY DOWNLOADED THE ZIP FILE WHICH CONTAINS LOTS OF FOLDERS/FILES From inetsrv folder Drag and Drop the IIS7BackupRestore.dll into the Global Assembly Cache (C:\Windows\assembly) or use GacUtil -i IIS7BackupRestore.dll to install it to the GAC. CLUELESS ON THIS STEP. THERE IS NO INETSRV FOLDER IN THE DOWNLOADED ZIP FILE. THE IIS7BackupRestore.dll FILE EXISTS IN SEVERAL FOLDERS OF THE ZIP FILE, BUT I CAN'T 'DROP' IT IN THE ASSEMBLY FOLDER (GET AN ERROR). The rest to the intructions seem pretty clear, but I can't get past the first 2 steps. I've never used the GACUTIL and don't want to hose my system. Any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated...

  Re: Dead link for iBackupIIS7 - Backup/Restore utility Reply Contact Open two explorer windows, one with the path displaying the file, the other one to c:\windows\assembly.   Have them so you can see each on other on the same window, drag the DLL file to the C:\windows\assembly folder.  The GAC stands for global assembly cache, it's kind of like the registry for .NET framework.  It won't hose your system.
