  IIS 7 Default Web Application Reply Contact Hi, I am new in managing web applications through IIS 7. Thus far I have only used 3rd party hosting services. I have set up a new web site under the sites and configure the bindings to look for port 80. Within that I have set up a new Web Application. My problem is that when I type the domain name say http://www.domainname.com/ I have to provide the web application name so I have to type http://www.domainname.com/webapplication to get to my site. How can I configure it to only type http://www.domainname.com/   Thank you in advance, Jason

  Re: IIS 7 Default Web Application Reply Contact Every time you create a new site, a default application is created for the new site. So for the website that you currently have, you will see applications "/" (default application) and "Web Application" in configuration at %SystemRoot%\System32.\inetsrv\config\applicationHost.config. You don't have to create a separate application. Deploy your content to the root of the site and you are all set. Thanks, Katerina Rohonyan, SDET, Microsoft IIS Team
