transfering files from dedicated server to local host

    hi all

    advance thanks.

i hosted my website in a US dedicated server.this is my first website.

am accesing this US dedicated server using remote desktop connection.

am transfering files from local host to dedicated server using copy paste method..

but copying files from local host to dedicated server  taking too much time..

    my doubt is

1.is any other way we have for transfering files from local host to remote dedicated server?

2.extra payment we have for   downloading files using our net connection, whether this copy paste from dedicated to local host is downloading files or not???

    regards

    1. Use FTP for many files. Only use cut and paste for small files/text.

    2. Depends on the hosting provider but normally all traffic is accounted for in the cost (including the bytes for your remote desktop connection) but you should be getting terrabytes a months so a few megabytes shouldn't be much of a problem.

Googling will get you plenty of results for doing this.

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ftp+iis+6&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

but here is a straight forward guide

If you can connect to the RDP to your remote server, then you can establish hard drive sharing with the RDP connection and can access your local hard drives in the my computer of the server. You can just do the simple copy/paste there.
