    New to log Parser

    Hi There,

i'm new to log parser, but have been analyzing IIS logs manually and have had some experience in understanding IIS logs, i have come accross Log Parser and am looking for some assistance in how it all works, i understand you can write a query and it will extract information for you, what i am having trobles doing is setting it all up to work. If i save a logfile from IIS onto my desktop, how do i then use this log in Log Parser? Is there a tutorial i can read? or is there someone that can give me some quick pointers?I also want to use a GUI loparser program instead of the command based one. Any help which might point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

     Regards

    Mikie

I've never used the GUI program.   Here is a book on log parser, it's a great resource.

    Re: New to log Parser

The help file (logparser.chm) has a lot of useful information and examples in it. I have recently installed the GUI tool from here www.lizardl.com

I have not really used it as of yet, but it looks good. Good luck, Logparser is an awesome tool.
