Hello,
I can't seem to be able to have visual studio 2005 either open or create a remote website on server 2003.
"Unable to open the Web "http://servername. You are not authorized to perform the current operation".
Configuration:
==========
vs2005 64 bit is installed on a host running vista ultimate 64 bit, dual intel E5410 xeons.
Server2003 R2 Std x64 is installed as a virtual machine(vm) inside wmare workstation 5. There is a 2nd virtual machine running xppro.
Background:
==========
server 2003 has frontpage server 2002 extensions installed and asp.net 2.0.
I am able to ping all machines from any one machine.
I am able to browse the default website on server 2003 from within as well as from xp and vista.
(http://servername).
On vista, I am able to use the network center to read/modify/write any directory that I set the appropriate permissions for Guest, servername\iusr, users (servername\users).
vs2005 works fine with the internal development server.
Request:
=======
Any suggestions, simple tests, feedback would be much appreciated. Please be explicit since I am new at this and very general input might just throw me for a loop.
(I saw a previous thread: Configuring IIS 6.0 to work remotely with Visual Studio .NET 2005, but wasn't able to understand exactly what to do).
Thanks,
Dev.
