Setting up .NET 1.1 and 2.0 to run together

    Hi All,

I have a client who is running an appliation that uses 2.0.50727 and I need to install another application that runs on 1.1.4122.

In IIS if I change the Default Web Site under Properties to 1.1, 2.0 fails and vice versa. So how can I set up another Web Site that I can set as default 1.1 with all the correct paths and permission so that the other application can be run.

Another problem comes to mind when doing this, during the install of the program installs services that need to run in IIS, now by default it will install under Default Web Sites, is it possible once the install is done to move these entries down to 1.1 or will have to create them manually.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards....

You can set up 2 different seperate websites that can run different versions of IIS.

If you are having problems create seperate applications pools (.net 1,.1 app pool; .net 2.0 app pool) and run all versions under the specfic pool.

Why do they have to run under the 'default web site'?

Try not to us the generic 'default web site' and run seperate websites for each applciation/site. It will make it easier to manage.

Most overused word in IT is 'should' as in 'That should work!?!'

    Hi Rovastar,

I am in the process of testing this now, on another test server  I have that runs 2003. I will have to recreate all the Virtual Directors in the new website after the application has been installed, as by default the install for this is Default Web Site. Should be no problem to do that.

    Thanks for your help appreciated.

    Regards,
