  Problem after installing IIS Reply Contact Hi guys my name is Ryan, I think I have a problem in my IIS. I've just installed Windows XP SP2 on my pc at home. After I just got finished installing the windows, I began to install the windows components, mainly the IIS. Then when I finished installing IIS, I try to access the http://localhost/ but the weird thing is, it requesting some authentication password, I don't know why. First of all I didn't include any administrator password when I installed windows and my pc wasn't connected to any network at all, can you guys help me please? Thanks.   Regards.

  Re: Problem after installing IIS Reply Contact Hi, It looks like you need to enable anonymous access for the Localstart.asp file. Alternatively, if you have published default document to IIS you can avoid previous step. So please check the home directory of the Default Web Site (c:\inetpub\wwwroot) to see if you have one of the default documents put in it. Here is a sample list: Default.aspx Default.htm Default.asp ... IIS is seeking for default document according to the default document order set in IIS Manager. See How to configure the default document in Internet Information Services. For Windows XP, Iisstart.asp or Localstart.asp will be loaded if no other default document is present. Create one of the previous web pages using design or development tool and put it into the home directory of the Default Web Site.
