    IIS 6 Management Compatibility

Is there any downside to enabling IIS 6 Management Compatibility? Should i enable it while running my scripts and disable it when complete?

The only downside I can think of is performance, the "ABOMapper" service (IISAdmin) has to react to change notifications and other situations which might cause additional CPU cycles to be consumed when you might not need them. The problem is how to know when you really need it or not, for example tools like Visual Studio still require it to perform certain tasks. Certain MSI installers still use the old metabase which will fail unless you have it installed.

    Re: IIS 6 Management Compatibility

I have an application that promotes web apps from test to production. It works fine with iis 6 management enabled. But after looking at the new namespace provided i think it would be better just to rewrite my iis class. Thanks for the response.
