I can get to my ftp site using ftp://ip but how do you use a URL...either www. or ftp.? Do I actually have to set up a web site and enable FTP publishing or can I just do it from an FTP site? I only have an FTP site set up now. Thanks for your help!
You need to register a domain name and setup your DNS. Do you have a domain name yet?
Yes, I have a domain set up already. I have the server in DNS, too. Do I set up an alias for the web site in DNS? I tried that, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right.
Create a CNAME record for either www or ftp and point it at "@" (or your ip address).
Thanks for your input. I ended up just creating a website with FTP publishing.
Is this IIS 7 if you added the FTP binding to the site.
Yes, IIS 7 on a Server 2008 machine.
