new2this59 - are you running 64-bit OS? If so, you need to enable 32-bit extensions in IIS7 to prevent this error.

I am using Windows 2008 R2 running IIS 7.5 and I receive the same error. The fix was to add the different MIME types that were there by default. .asp, .aspx, and .asax at the default site level so it can propigate down to my websites and future websites
