    IIS7.0 - Visual Interdev 6.0

I just intalled Visual Studio 6.0 on my Vista Home Premium SP1 (have not installed VS6.0 sp6 yet). When I try to create a new project I use "Local"  in 'what server do you want to use?' on the web project wizard 1 of 4 page. Also select master mode. VID displays the message: "Unable to contact Web server Http://Local".

I think I have installed all the components for IIS, but cannot figure out this problem.

    Thanks

FrontPage Server Extensions.  And a serious upgrade in development tools.

You can find FPSE for IIS7 here: http://www.iis.net/downloads/default.aspx?tabid=34&g=6&i=1630

You may want to try out Visual Web Developer 2008 Express (free) here: http://www.asp.net/downloads/essential/

    Re: IIS7.0 - Visual Interdev 6.0

Thank you for your information on FPSE for IIS7.0. Once I installed it, I was able to create my project. At first, though, VID6.0 would stop indicating that the web server autintication method had to be set. I went to IIS Manager and set the Default Web Site's Authentication as follows:

    Anonymous Auth. enabled
    Basic Auth. Enabled
    Forms Auth. Enabled
    ASP.NET Impersonation disabled.

With this setting VID6.0 forces me to enter userID/Pwd every time I open a form to update. I can live with this minor inconvenience but I would like to set the authentication such that I don't need UID/Pwd every time. Do you know how?. Thanks!!!

But, what I can not live with, is the fact that I cannot debbug ASP pages.

How can I configure my Web server for vID 6.0 ASP debugging on IIS7.0 and FPSE2002?

thank you again for all your help.
