Having a difficult time publishing anything but HTML

    Hello,

I have been trying to publish a few free sites that are quite easy to setup in Server 2003,

However it is been quite a task trying to get MySQl and Joomla up and running or SkyPortal or anyother content for that matter.

Test.PHP fileworks fine but nothing but scramble here when I try to setup Joomla

Here is a aricle on installing and configuring IIS with PHP.

    http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/208/fastcgi-with-php/

The 500 error appears to be a permissions issue trying to write data.  Can you provide a link to joomla you are trying to use.   Are you seeing anything in the event log?  You'll need to enable auditing to see object failures.  Here is a blog how to enable auditing.  This will record failures in the security event log.

Re: Having a difficult time publishing anything but HTML

    Hello Steve,

    Thanks for your reply

Here is the link that I downloaded Joomla from

    http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/frs/

    the third one down.

I installed PHP from the IIS video on IIS.net. However I did not install PHP via the zip file.

I used the installer and it seems everytime I use this I get errors. You think I would know better by now.

Thanks I will try your suggestions

    Joseph
