Is it possible to specify a default domain for remote administration connections?

I have the Management Service configured to allow for remote connections/Windows credentials only, and I have granted a domain group rights to administer a site on shared configuration.  Similar to specifying DefaultLogonDomain in FTP, is it possible to set a default logon domain for users connecting so that they only have to enter their username instead of domain\username?

Re: Is it possible to specify a default domain for remote administration connections?

The problem with this solution is that the user authenticating is not the domain user; it is a user with a username and password that happen to match the domain user.  I would like for the domain user to authenticate but not have to specify the domain.  I.e. I don't want the authentication model to assume that the local machine is the source of the user account, I want it to assume it is a domain user.
