using CDO.Message

Hi, I am using CDO.Message object to send message without using configuration setting of the CDO object. It is working on a server I do know the operating system .but it does not work on server running windows 2003. it gievs error in cdoobject.send Will u tell me plz what is the reason .why it runns on a server and not on other .as in both i have nt aspecified the SMTP server .

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

Now in this I have aspecified the SMTP server but no username and password as the provider didnot provided it. they say only specifying the server name it will work.

Hmm...I suspect if the SMTP service isn't turned on or isn't configured to allow relaying. Verify its listening on port 25, open a command prompt, type in netstat -an -p tcp and see if 0.0.0.0:25 is listening.

i have checked the command on my local system and 0.0.0.0.25 is listning but still now i am getting problem .reality is i am unable to take decision that whether my code is wrong or there is fault on server.plz tell me what should i do.I have talked with the provider they do not have such typeof knowledge.

If there's no error code or exception msgs then your code mostly is working fine. Check event log, smtp log or mail queue folder to see if it stuck there. Read this blog post.

error '8004020f' /mail.asp, line 89

this time i am getting above problem when i have entered the email id and password in username and password,and when I enter the smtpserver name as smtp.zyx.com then this line also gve visual basic parameter error and when i exclude the smtp eg (zyx.com )then it gives above error

since you need to send credential. it ask you to see http://classicasp.aspfaq.com/email/how-do-i-send-e-mail-with-cdo.html

Now, is that the correct mail server? can you use outlook express or any client to use the credentail to login and send mail ?

I do not understand ur Question .But tillnow I am getting the same error.And when I change this line as bellow then new error comes

This is telling the smtp setting to use local pickup folder. do you have local pickup folder ? you really need to understand what you are trying to do here. send via local or remote smtp? does it need authentication ? do you have valid credential for relaying email ?
