Reply Contact I manage a web site ASP using MSWC.Adrotator object for advertising Now I've changed my PC with a new one with Windows Vista Premium and IIS 7 Then I discover that MSWC.Adrotator is not included.. it is possible? what can I do? Can I add the dll? help me... please Ciao Roberto

Reply Contact I understand and I would like to improve my site.. but the truth is that only my PC that is the development workstation has IIS7 because I have Windows Vista.. The site on the web is running normally with the MSCW.Adrotator.. I can't change the real web site for a problem on development environment.. Do you know if I can install the same the old object? I have the dll but I don't know how to.. I try to register with the module functionality in IIS administration console but it was a failure. .. there will be a solution to use the old one. help me!!

Reply Contact I try to implement a test with the new object.. but (sorry I don't know ASP .NET) now I now that I can't include an aspx file on an asp file.. So If I make this change this means I have to change ALL my web site in ASPX.. there are more tha 100 pages

Reply Contact Hi Robbo76, I tried several things and was unable to get the classic Adrotator component working.  Here is the list of things I tried and couldn't get it to work on Vista 1) Disable UAC 2) placed adrot.dll from a windows 2003 machine in the c:\windows\system32\inetsrv folder on a Vista box. 3) Regsvr32 adrot.dll 4) Put adrot.dll in COM+ 5) Created an asp.net application, tried using COM-Interop ( a reference the existing DLL and .NET will run it from managed code).  6) I tried running the various options both in an Integrated mode and 'classic ASP.NET' mode application pools. Hopefully, someone from the IIS team or someone else has an idea how to make this work.  The same code worked fine on my Windows 2003 box. Reply Contact Thank you Steve, Till now I didn't find a solution I decide to place a global condition in Asp that avoid the object in my development environment.. So I didn't see banner in my local web site I hope to find a solution.. My big fear is when my provider decide to upgrade IIS..

Reply Contact My pleasure.  I've not tried any other 3rd party COM+ products on longhorn.  I spent a good afternoon trying all the tricks I knew to get this to work.  I doubt this component has been updated since IIS4 or maybe even 3.   I would plan on updating the use of this component in your application.  My take, the component has some hard coded things not thought about in IIS7.  That is just a guess though.  :)  Good luck Steve Schofield Windows Server MVP - IIS http://weblogs.asp.net/steveschofield http://www.IISLogs.com Log archival solution Install, Configure, Forget
