Second FTP Site

I have an order entry program in Ms Access that submits customer orders via FTP. I have been handed a situation where the another FTP site
needs to be created for a new division of customers for a different product line. Specifically like the difference between Fresh foods, and canned foods. The customers - although two different entities, are within the same store, and need to have different
user accounts. I tried doing it with the existing ftp site - it works - but the hosting program that I am using as a separate entity for the canned foods will also pull the orders for the fresh foods. The host program operates by polling the folders in the
home directory for an order.txt. This is why I thought it best to add an FTP site and give it its own home directory. I created new user accounts, and these user accounts work with the existing site. I created a new site - assigned it a different IP address,
and as far as I know I coppied the entire configuration of the existing site. When I try to send an order - I get "12029 error - The attempt to connect to the server failed". I directed the order entry program to the appropriate IP address. I have gone over
everything, I even tried using a different port number for the site figuring that maybe the both of them cannot use the same port - and frankly I do not know if they can or not. At this point I would even feel better if I could get an "Invalid password or
user ID error" at least I would know I am getting through.

I'd say the first step you need to do is make sure the second FTP is working at all. From the server that is running FTP telnet to the FTP IP and port. If you establish a connection then attempt to do the same thing from your PC. If that works then you
know the FTP works both internal and external from the server. I would recommend from that point even running the Telnet test from the server that runs the host program.

Agreed. ensure the ftp site is working first. and you can't bind 2 sites using single ip with the same port. IIS 7 you will see new host name support for ftp site.

Your 2nd ftp is not working at all, so
a) setup the ftp site to bind at port 2100
b) try start the site and IIS MMC.
c) go to command prompt, enter
ftp> open localhost 2100
do you see login prompt, etc

I did not get the login prompt - this is what I get
ftp> open localhost 2100
Connected to ftp2.Kilduff.local.
Connection closed by remote host.
It closes right away with no logon prompt

2nd Ftp site is not running, you sure you started the site ?

Yeah - I started it. I deleted and rebuilt it too, and I continue to get the same results. I am really confused here - I gave it its own IP address, changed the port - assigned the proper permissions, and just for the hell of it - I stopped the other one
to see if only one could work at a time - just like as if they were on the same port - but I got the same results.

a) go to command prompt, enter iisftp.vbs /query, then post the output here
b) then ftp.exe at local machine.
