Webdav and web folders

Hello all!

Can anyone help me with the configuration off IIS and Webdav. I would like to set departmental virtual drives using webdav for some of our departments. i am not an expert with IIS and get lost in what processes need to take place and what does not. For testing I have virtual directories under the default site. but can not get anything to open over the web. The best I get is a text base directory structure.

Please help.

Localhost works..Im looking at no-ip.com now. It seems a little confusing. This is the first time I have ever tried to serve something from my own computer.

Access to the path <upload directory> is denied... plz help

hi frens, i m working wid asp.net 1.1 c# from my aspx page i m trying to upload d files on d folder on webserver on local machine.. wen click d upload button.. it gives me error.. can anyone tell me y? hw shall i solve this.. i knw i need to give some permission to aspnet user.. but i donno hw to do it.. plz help.. i m stuck badly.. thanks n regards rocky

Front Page Error: Cannot Process email form - How to view the Application event Log?

Alright my email webform developed in front page suddenly stopped working. I get this error

"FRONT PAGE ERROR"

User:please report details to this site's webmaster"

Webmaster:please see the server's application event log for more detail

The error isn't specific and I'm the webmaster. I'm totally new to the IIS6 and frontpage 03. so how do I view the application event log? I mean where is the application event log usually located at ?

Also what else do I need to look for? My email form was working fine couple days ago and now it doesn't work and gives me the error(above). Any suggestions or guidance so I can narrow the problem?

FTP server access

I just completed the installation of IIS and configured my website as well
as my FTP Server.

However, I am having issues with logging into my FTP Server through
Dreamweaver to change my website. and I think no one has access to the ftp.

Can anyone tell me how I can test the log in to FTP Server? and to see if it is working or not.

I did make sure that the directory of the FTP server is the same location as
the website. Is this correct?

I tested the logging into my ftp site by opening a cmd.exe prompt and I Enter the following:

ftp IPAddress or ServerName
Enter your Username or Annonymous
Enter your Password

I get this error messages "530 Please log in with USER and PASS"

we are running Windows 2003 with IIS6
what configuration I need to do on IIS 6 Windows 2003
server to be able to access the server as well as to access through a ftp
tools as well as dreamweaver MX

How did publishing a form through Frontpage wreck my whole site ?

Hello

I'm running on Server2003 and IIS.

I recently have attempted to publish a form to my existing site using Frontpage and Frontpage Server Extensions.

I set up the SMTP name/ip and the corresponding email address for Frontpage Server Extensions as instructed by microsoft. I then told Frontpage to publish the site to an address for the form (http://www.mysite.org/webform.html) . After doing this, first of all the form doesnt work (displays a FSExtensions error message when you click submit button) and then for the real treat.............when publishing this one form to a specific address on my site.......Frontpage completely deleted a shared navigation border (or left junk code) from my entire site. Every page has to be redone now, because Frontpage removed the shared border from all of the pages.

Can someone help me understand why this happened ?

Add hostheader to site on IIS

I'm trying to add a hostheader to a site in IIS. The problems is that i can do this on my developer machine witch is running Win xp SP2. But when I try it on the online server witch is running win 2003 RC1. I get Access is denied error. By using impersonate I can get administrative privileges to update the IIS.

Error:
Access is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

I'm 100% sure the user I’m impersonating have administrative privileges. I'm wondering if Microsoft has changed security levels so it can't be done any more on a win 2003 server.

The strange part is I can access the IIS and get a list over all Sites, but I can’t update a site or create a new one.
