Internet Printing authentication failing with 401.5 on IsapiModule

I'm trying to set up an IIS to allow internet printing - i'm using Basic authentication with ssl

after connects to printer and enters internet port information i'm getting a 401.5 error on the IsapiModule

(the user is then presented with a second login box, which, if they login twice after about 5 mins are told "Printer Installation Failed the handle is invalid"

i've tried changing the DefaultAppPool to Classic pipeline mode but this has made no difference - has anyone any ideas?

Connect does not appear under Printer Actions for IPP

I believe I've configured everything correctly, but I must've missed something. Whenever I login to the server.com/printers it lists all my printers - but under the Printer Actions there is no Connect button like there should be. Is this a group policy change that I need to enable possibly?

Internet printing

How do I enable Internet printing in IIS 7.0? I enabled IIS web serving and checked internet printing under Windows features for IIS, but get nothing when navigating to [server]/printers. I don't see it in the IIS management console. (I'm using Vista Ultimate, and have the IIS 7.0 that comes with it.) I also don't see it mentioned in the help files anywhere.

Any instructions would be helpful. I just need to be able to print from any remote computer over the Internet to my printer.
