Disk or Network Error in Windows 7, Please help

Yesterday I upgrade my PC's OS from Vista to Seven Ultimate. After I turned on IIS feature, web applications on my machine do not work anymore. Disk or Network Error appear when I opened pages. I followed every steps of setting up from IIS's Blog (http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2007/05/21/tips-for-classic-asp-developers-on-iis7.aspx). Classic ASP worked fine when I used Vista, but not work in Windows 7. Please help me to make my Classic ASP pages to run on WIndows 7, Thanks

IIS7 and VB runtime access denied

I hae a problem with a Web site effectively written as a VB6-style IIS application, i.e. the app itself is a VB6-generated DLL. This works perfectly in all 32-bit versions of Windows, but fails on Vista 64-bit running IIS7. The specific error is an access-denied message, and it seems to be the VB runtime module to which access is denied.

A solution seemed to be to grant access rights to the file to the anonymous user, which is no longer included in the Everyone group and is now called "Anonymous Logon", not IUSR_<machine name> as it used to be. However, I found that even with an Administrator logon with elevated privilege I could not change the access rights to the VB runtime.

The document http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vbrun/ms788708.aspx (title “Support Statement for Visual Basic 6.0 on Windows®Vista™and Windows®Server 2008 ™”) contains the following:

"64-Bit Windows

"Visual Basic 6.0 runtime files are 32-bit. These files ship in 64-bit Windows Operating Systems referenced in the table below. 32-bit VB6 applications and components are supported in the WOW emulation environment only. 32-bit components must also be hosted in 32-bit application processes."

If I am interpreting this correctly, it means that 32-bit components cannot be run under IIS7 on a 64-bit platform, since IIS is presumably not running in WOW emulation mode. Does anyone know if this is definitely the case, or is there some way to run this sort of scenario?

Another Classic ASP & IIS 7 Issue

Like most, I've been trying to set up classic asp and IIS7 on my Vista laptop for about 27 days now. I've done every tutorial step by step again and again but nothing works. including these steps:

I keep getting the:

Does anyone know what else I can do to get this going?

Issues in IIS 7, session and application variables are not maintained - Classic ASP site

For local development purpose, I ran following script on VISTA, IIS 7:

It does not show me IP of client, Request.ServerVariables("remote_host") and

(Request.ServerVariables("remote_addr").

on my vista I had IPv 6 and IPv4 both enabled. i dropped IPv6 protocole and now Request.ServerVariables("remote_host") is showing ::1 value earlier it was showing "A6073E5A-D779-472A-8430-9B03999E4121" AS IP

Also I noticed that all values assigned to session and application variables defined in global.asa are not available in other pages of my website means session and application variables are not maintaining. It seems that whole server side variables are not working that were initialized with appliction_OnStart, session_OnStart. Wherein whole ASP siter with no change in code is working fine with IIS 6 (xp/win2k3). But this issues comes within IIS 7. Please help how this can be fixed ?

Http 500 - Internal Server Error

I am using classic ASP to browse my site. I have a page 'neighbors.asp' from which onsubmit event I need to send a mail. I have created a script page 'sendmail.asp' for coding the mail and set this as an action on neighbors.asp

Once I fill all details on neighbors.asp and click on submit, I receive the following error:

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

When I have disabled "Show friendly Http Errors" from Internet Options, I got the following msg:

An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.

I discovered a solution. If I change the included filename's extension to anything other than 'inc' and 'asp', it works.

ASP displaying VB as text

I am trying to run Classic ASP VBscript pages from IIS7 and the HTML renders fine but the VBscript tags I up on the page dont seem to work.

When I run the page the VB comes back as text on the screen. There are no errors that appear either.

Can anyonne help me please?

I am having a nearly identical problem. My classic asp pages work until I use one of the Application, session or server objects, then I get the '8002901d' error as well. Checking Event Viewer / Windows Logs / Application, I have the following entry each time the page is executed

"Error: The Template Persistent Cache initialization failed for Application Pool 'ASP.NET 1.1' because of the following error: Could not create a Disk Cache Sub-directory for the Application Pool. The data may have additional error codes.."

These asp pages worked fine until I installed Vista Service Pack 1, then all fail. I've already lost the restore point to before SP1 was installed, and uninstalling SP1 did not resolve. I've tried every suggestion I could find on the web for IIS 7 setup, but nothing so far has fixed this for me.

Why isn't IIS 7.0 able to handle .ASP files by default?

I have recently upgraded my OS from XP PRO sp3 to Vista Ultimate x86. When I was working with XP I could access and work with my .ASP files by default using IIS (I think it was ver. 6,0, in contrast to 7.0 that comes with Vista). But now I get some kind of error, as follows: http://i25.tinypic.com/5vvv3q.jpg Oh and I do have .NET framework (ver. 3.0) installed and enabled. Help please?
