Installing FrontPage Server Extensions

I have installed XAMPP on Windows XP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html). I want to know how I can install FrontPage Server Extensions to work with XAMPP. Is there a way I can do this? Thanks.

Usage Summary not working after installing Server Extensions 2002 on Server 2003 standard

I have a problem with any of the Usage reports working. I installed Server Extensions 2002 on my Server2003, extended them, turned on the usage settings on the server.

when I open my remote site in Frontpage 2003 EVERYTHING else works on my site EXCEPT when i try to run a usage summary. hit counters work, feedback forms, site summary, problems, work flow...everything works BUT the usage summary and everything under it like summary, page hits, visitors, etc....

when I click on usage summary (any time frame) the page just says "there is no usage available because no data is being collected for this website. to collect usage data, contact the server admin"

i am obviously missing a step SOMEWHERE here...any insight would be great!!!

It's successfully installed, but not able to Extend. I get the message - Cannot create folder "_vti_pvt". What do I need to do to correct this?

Windows 2000 / FPSE 2002 - No Longer Works

I have quite a few servers running Windows 2000 / FPSE 2002. For some reason Frontpage extensions stopped working on the boxes in the last week, Now when trying to connect with Frontpage the login process takes about 2 minutes, then errors out with the message:

The folder http://name,com isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or \.

Also on the server side, using the web-based server administrator does not seem to recognize NTLM login - I changed a test site to Basic Authentication and it allowed me to open the administration web site.

The sites can all be accessed with FTP just fine.

Any one know if any recent service packs messed with this configuration? I have a lot of FP users banging on the door... Thanks!

Error installing FrontPage 2002 Server Extesntions on IIS 7.0

Hello.

I have Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 x64 and IIS 7.0 installed.

Also I had installed FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions downloaded from this web site, and all was working fine. But some time ago Microsoft SharePoint Administration page stopped opening and Visual Studio 2008 stopped working with web server.

And now every FP Ext 2002 uninstall throws an error: There is no web named "" and successfully finish uninstallation process and closes wizard.

And every install - Unable to read configuration for Microsoft Information Server and also successfully finish installation process and closes wizard. But web page doesn’t opens, "Web site found" and after it - "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

How can I fix such issue?

Maybe I have some problems with permissions? IIS6 had Reset Permissions Wizard (approximately name). Is there such feature in IIS7?

Permissions with Frontpage Sever Extensions for Vista

I have installed Frontpage Server extensions for Vista/Server 2008 from Ready to Run Software. They seem to being working fine when I am logged in as the native machine administrator.

I then add another user as an Author for the site using the FPSE . Thie new user is a member of a domain, but has administrator rights on the machine running FPSE/IIS 7.

When logged in as the Domain user, I am not able to save changes made to specific webpages through Frontpage. I always need to logon as the native machine Administrator to save the pages.

Can I setup FPSE to allow the Domain User that is an administrator for the machine to have the same permissions/roles as the native machine Administrator.

Cannot get FrontPage extensions 2002 to work

Recently installed fresh server 2k3 Standard with Exchange 2k3. My website and email work perfectly. After I installed FrontPage Extensions the options to enable/configure for my website does not appear as an option when I click on the All Tasks drop down. What could the problem be? I have researched and came across something called IIS Lockdown might be causing the problem...but I never installed. Any help or insight would be cool. Thanks.

I've looked throughout these forums, but there doesn't seem to be any answers:

While I'd love to get rid of requiring FrontPage Extensions on a heavy traffic site I host, the client requires it to administrate the site. Having just implemented Wildcard Application Mapping in IIS 6 on this site in order to provide integrated Forms Authentication security between ASP and ASP.NET resources, this breaks FrontPage extensions. Everything works like a charm, including encrypting and caching roles that are now available even to ASP, except for the loss of FrontPage. Specifically, you cannot even login to FrontPage administration (incorrect credentials).

Has anyone gotten FrontPage to work with Wildcard Application Mapping routing through the ASP.NET 2.0 aspnet_isapi.dll?

when i download microsoft frontpage and visual studio i can not create websites because i dont have the frontpage server extensions but when i try to instal them it says i first need IIS4 or greater. plz help :)
