ARR + Forms Authentication

Is there an easy way to configure Forms Authentication to be passed to the farm servers, the idea is to have the authentication happen at one server and another server will be access with those credentials, our application uses forms authentication, and when we hit another server directly on the farm by passes the form authentication, can anyone guide me on the most effective way to do this..

Any help would be appreciated.. thank you

REMOTE_ADDR IP restriction and DFS

We install Microsoft Application Request Routing on a server and we are using it as a reverse proxy server.

All the url rewrite rules work, if we update the rule set with new rules everything still works but if we introduce or modify any rule that contains any IP condition and use REMOTE_ADDR as a variable the web server breaks and stop serving.

ie: <add input="{REMOTE_ADDR}" pattern="^(10.0.0.1|127.0.0.1)" />

We can only resume serving when we restart the web server.

This is very problematic as we use this reverse proxy as a production server and we cant be starting it whenever we want.

Can someone have any ideas for solving this? Many thanks.

Could you tell me the exact meaning and description of the "reverse rewrite host in response headers" option?

Also, this checkbox is "checked" by default. Is that a normal situation?

I configured my ARR as a reverse proxy only. In the ARR, the "Reverse rewrite host in response headers" checkbox is checked.

My internal website url is: http://internal.example.com/test.aspx

My external website url is: http://external.example.com/test.aspx

When I clicked http://internal.example.com/test.aspx, this page response a HTTP 301 Redirection to http://some.other.domain.com/testpage.aspx

When I clicked http://external.example.com/test.aspx link outside my office, it response a HTTP 301 but Redirect to http://external.example.com/testpage.aspx

I think this is a bug. The correct response Location should be "http://some.other.domain.com/testpage.aspx"

Does anyone can check it out?

I want to do something similar but also being new to IIS and ARR having problems getting it to work.

Would like to configure an IIS server as a reverse proxy such that I can access internal servers from it.

For example how can I configure it such that

http://www.iisserver.mycompany.com//internal1 would route to http://internal1.mycompany.com

and

http://www.iisserver.mycompany.com/internal2 would route to http://internal2.mycompany.com

as well as rewrite URLs in the responses. I seemed to make it work for one server but then I screw it up trying to add another and then can't even get it working for the 1 server case again.

Any help would be appreciated.

How to get a matched pattern in the Rewrite URL field?

There is a Condition input shown below:

There is a {C:0} in the Rewrite URL field.

My question is that the "{C:0}" will get the "New Value" from the ReverseProxyMap, how can I get the "matched" string ( a.k.a. Original Value ) in the Rewrite URL field?
